High Flight.

In tribute to the Late Cliff Robertson, who owned this Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX ( MK923).

"High Flight"

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent lifting mind I have trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
- Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee, Jr. (9 June 1922 – 11 December 1941) RCAF, 412 Sqd. Died while flying a Spitfire.

Pretty Woman (revisited)

I am posting some of my portraits of lovely ladies... enjoy the slide show.

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be

~ Roy Orbison

Why do I photograph models, the Pretty Woman? A lifetime ago I was a police forensic photo tech, R.C.M.P.  I saw horrible and ugly images. Now I take images I want to see, and to be frank, I like attractive women.

9/11

I was trying to think of a 9/11 tribute, and remembered I was wearing this t-shirt, that the Ottawa Professional Firefighters sold in 2001 to raise money for the family's of fallen FDNY comrades. I make a point to wear this t-shirt every September 11.
