Sunset rainbow over West Ottawa

The sun was setting below a heavy cloudbank, the rain to the south created spectacular light, and a double rainbow against the lead coloured sky.  From this height both ends were visible, however I didn't have time to swap on my 14mm ultra-wide angle lens as I was rapidly losing the rainbow as the sun dropped.  Elevation is everything, height of land 210' ASL, plus balcony height so my camera height would have been 400-425' ASL. Light was changing too fast to swap on my 14mm ultra-wide angle lens to get the full arc(s). Double only at right side.

Cottage 2012

With the end of spring, and with the 34°C temperatures in this part of the World means time to open up the cottage. Just one hour from Ottawa on paved highways until the last mile. Late spring means the wild flowers are in bloom, and the lake is warmed up enough to swim. . .

Lockheed Electra

Same image some tweaks, clean-up and slight HDR effect applied... Photo 1 looks like a Kodachrome slide, and photo 2 now looks like a Fuji Velvia. Aircraft is a 1937 airworthy Lockheed L-10A Electra (same make/model as Amelia Earhart's last plane)

Ottawa Skies

Rain clouds roll through the west-end Ottawa skies, followed with a rainbow.
